2015 – Currently there is no pending legislation that impacts the Process Service Industry in Tennessee

TAPPS remains vigil and maintains our relationships with members of the Tennessee Legislature to ensure that when issues or potentially harmful legislation is proposed that we are there to represent our member’s interest and the interests of all process servers in Tennessee.

Over the last twenty years, members of TAPPS and the Officers of TAPPS have worked closely with the National Association of Professional Process Servers and local legislators to protect the professional process server industry in Tennessee.  Recent studies in Georgia show that tax payers lose money when all civil process is handled by only the Sheriff’s department.  Protecting private professional process service form infringement and undue regulation is paramount and part of the mission of TAPPS.
